Our Projects
Explore our impactful projects that aim to provide nutritious meals to children in community schools. Learn about the background and context of our latest initiatives, and the positive impact they have on the lives of young students.

Daily Nutritious School Meals
We partner with community schools to implement daily school meal programs that ensure children receive at least one nutritious, balanced meal every school day. Research shows that school feeding increases enrollment, attendance, and academic performance while reducing dropout rates.
Solution: We source food locally and incorporate diverse ingredients (e.g., beans, maize, millet, vegetables) to ensure nutritional quality. We work with nutritionists to develop affordable, region-appropriate meal plans.

TONI Primary School – Karewu Village, Palisa District
TONI Primary School is located in Karewu Village, Agule Sub-county, Palisa District. The school serves over 650 children, most of whom come from extremely poor households. Ubuntu Feeding Solutions has partnered with the school to improve children's health and learning through nutrition. Our efforts include:
- Providing daily school meals to combat malnutrition and improve focus in class.
- Establishing a school garden that helps supply food and teaches children sustainable farming.
- Conducting nutrition education sessions with students, parents, and teachers to build healthy eating habits.
- Organizing parent outreach to support household food security.

Morning Star Primary School – Butongole Village, Kaliro District
Morning Star Primary School in Butongole Village, Kaliro District, is located in another deeply underserved area where hunger disrupts children's education. Ubuntu Feeding Solutions works with the school to ensure children receive reliable, nutritious meals. Our programs include:
- Delivering daily school lunches to ensure no child studies on an empty stomach.
- Introducing basic kitchen gardens to supplement school meals.
- Promoting healthy nutrition practices through storytelling and creative class sessions.
- Providing supplemental food support to the most vulnerable pupils identified by the school.

Community Nutrition Support
Beyond schools, Ubuntu Feeding Solutions extends its nutrition work to vulnerable families in the wider community. Our outreach includes:
- Monthly food parcel distributions to households struggling with severe food insecurity.
- Operating community feeding points where children can access free hot meals.
- Nutrition education campaigns to encourage balanced diets using local foods.
- Supporting school kitchens and meal programs through donations and partnerships.
We aim to ensure that every child and family has access to sufficient and nutritious food, recognizing that nutrition is the foundation of education, health, and dignity.

School and Community Gardens
We help schools and communities establish organic gardens and micro-farms that supply fresh food to the school kitchens and teach agricultural skills to students.
Solution: These gardens are developed using permaculture and climate-smart agriculture techniques, improving food availability while preserving soil and water.

Nutrition and Hygiene Education
We train teachers, caregivers, and students on nutrition, food hygiene, and safe water use to reduce illness and ensure the health benefits of our feeding programs are maximized.
Solution: Through simple, community-led workshops, we clarify nutrition and health in local languages and use hands-on demonstrations.
